Quincy, MA

Bill and I left Kingman Marina on Monday morning in absolutely no wind. The water was beautiful -- like glass. We were the only boat on the water for quite some time. Seeing the Cape Cod Canal from the road was fun yesterday, but it was incredible being on the boat IN it! We went under the railroad, Bourne, and Sagamore bridges and went right by Mass Maritime. And we made good time. With the current we averaged 9 knots or so. At one point we were doing 10.6 knots. After we left the canal it was a long - but still very beautiful - motor up the coast to Quincy, MA. Bill and I both forgot just how many lobster pots (and other "stuff" - we saw a board with nails, a deck chair, and lots of other unidentifiable objects in the water) there are in and around Boston Harbor. The weather was perfect - sunny with just a little breeze (not nearly enough to sail, but just enough to keep most of the bugs away). We motored into Boston Harbor about 8 hours after leaving Cape Cod and pulled into the slip shortly thereafter. Andrea and Nancy met us at the boat for dinner and we had a nice night of catching up with old marina friends.
